Dear Y.E.S. Parents,                                                                                                     

As the lights of the 2009-2010 Team Y.E.S. stadium are beginning to shine, I extend a gracious welcome to each of you for what will be a winning season filled with wonderful opportunities for student and staff success.  Y.E.S. is truly blessed with an amazingly spirited family of students, parents, and staff members.  I hope that each of you know and realize how extraordinary your position on Team Y.E.S. is to Yorktown ISD and to the community of Yorktown.  I am so proud to be a member of Team Y.E.S. and to have all of you on our team, and I know that we will continue to celebrate our Team Y.E.S. accomplishments throughout the upcoming season.

As the Head Coach of Team Y.E.S., I look forward to joining together with each of you, with our students, with our families, and with our community as we work to advance Team Y.E.S. for the benefit of our “kids”.  Team Y.E.S. sends thunderous cheers as we introduce our school theme for 2009-2010.  “Teaming Up for Success…In the Game for Kids” reminds us that as Team Y.E.S. members, our 100% best effort in the area of teamwork is a necessity that will lead to a magnificently successful season for our “kids”.  Speaking of “Teaming Up for Success”, Team Y.E.S. did exactly that as accountability ratings highlight that Y.E.S. is once again a “RECOGNIZED” campus!  Congratulations Team Y.E.S.!

At Y.E.S. we view parents and guardians as our partners in the educational process and encourage you to become involved in many of our school activities.  We would also like to encourage you to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns during the year.  Our telephone number is 361-564-2252, extension 4.  Each Y.E.S. staff member can also be contacted by their e-mail address which is printed in the Student and Parent Handbook. 

To keep you informed of events and activities, we produce a monthly newsletter for parents.  This newsletter will be sent home with each of the students at the beginning of each month and will also be posted on our district website at http://www.yisd.org/.

Again we welcome you to our school and wish to assure you that our number one goal is to make your child’s experience at YorktownElementary School rewarding and fulfilling.

On a final note, please remember the old adage, “there is no I in team.”  Team Y.E.S. will be standing behind each of you as we all continue to make a difference in the lives of children.  Don’t forget to keep your playbooks current and cheer for the home team as we champion for each and every child.  Make each swing a grand slam and celebrate every victory as if it were a Super Bowl.
