Athletic Physicals are required for students entering grades 7, 9, and 11 for the 2017-2018 school year that participate in Athletics. Students that had an injury or concussion in the last year will also be required to have a physical. Physicals will be done at the High School gym Friday May 5th and 12th after 1:00PM. Superintendent Public Forum, January 4, 2017 @ 6:00 p.m. @ the Junior High Library, to discuss the new A-F Rating system for accountability that has been adopted by the state. Anyone interested in learning more about this new system and how it affects school districts is invited to attend.
Texas Law HB5 requires that each district evaluate itself and each of its campuses in eight specifice categories. YISD values feedback from its community, and we appreciate you taking time to submit an evaluation of various programs within our district as they relate to community and student engagement.

School board candidates and interested citizens can learn about the demands and rewards of school board service in a free webinar offered by TASB on February 13 and March 9 at noon and 6:30 p.m. CST. This webinar is designed to help participants understand what is involved in being elected to and serving on a local school board, the difference between the board's and staff's responsibilities, how to campaign constructively, and where to find information about being a candidate. On February 15, 2017, Yorktown ISD (partnered with “Who We Play For” and The Yorktown Athletic Booster Club) will be providing cardiac screenings for all students in grades 6-12 that are in (or will be next school year) athletics , Marching band, or Cheerleading. Cardiac screening will consist of a 12 lead ECG screening. They will be required to take their shirts off. We will do girls and boys separately and with supervision. Girls will be permitted to leave sports bras on for the screening. Athletic Booster club is going to donate the cost of the screening for any child that gets screened on February 15, 2017. Please sign consent form and return to the school prior to 2-15-2017. Students will NOT be screened without a signed consent form.
