Having finished my first two six weeks as your new Superintendent of Schools, I have been very busy getting to know the district and the people who encompass it. I have conducted various meetings to help facilitate getting to know the ins and outs of the district as well as how the district operates. I met individually with staff members, met with student leaders, and conducted Superintendent's Forums with the public to help assess the needs and the strengths of our district. From these meetings I have learned valuable information and plan to utilize it to help steer the path for moving the district forward.
My goal is to work cooperatively with our community and our stakeholders to better serve our district in helping to move it forward. This goal also includes improving communication throughout our district, building trust amongst our stakeholders, and providing stability and leadership. Another point of this goal is to bring Yorktown ISD back to prominence and help it become a district of distinction by focusing on our greatest attribute, our students. By fostering and facilitating an environment of learning, engagement, accountability, college and career readiness, and increased technology, YISD will ensure our students are ready for their future. I look forward to serving your children and working with you, our community, to provide them the greatest opportunities.
