Home Schooled Students
TEA Section 29.916 states that the PSAT/NMSQT test or the Advanced Placement test is available for Home Schooled students eligible to attend school in our district.  A school district shall permit a home schooled student to participate in an administration of the PSAT/NMSQT or college advanced placement test offered by the district.  A school district shall require a home-schooled student to pay the same fee to participate in a test under this subsection that a student enrolled in the district is required to pay. Contact Secondary Front Office (361-564-2252 ext. 2) for testing dates.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvement Act:
The McKinney-Vento Act is the federal law reauthorizing the Stewart B. McKinney Act that governs the education of children and youth in homeless situations.  This act was signed into law in January 2002, and was effective July 1, 2002.
